Access the account registration page on Social Security Direct via the link https://www.seg-social.pt/ptss/gus/aderir. Read the terms and conditions and, if you agree, click the «I have read and accept the Terms and Conditions» button. Then, fill in the requested information:
• Account type
• NISS (Social Security Identification Number)
• Date of birth
• Check the "I'm not a robot" box
• Then click the «Next: Verification channel» button.
If the data does not match what is registered with Social Security, the registration cannot be completed. In this case, you should contact customer service.
Then, follow the instructions on the site:
• provide your contact details;
• choose the channel to receive the verification code (by mobile phone – SMS, email, or mail);
• confirm the verification code, if you received it by SMS or email, on the same page; or, if you chose to receive it by mail, confirm the code via the link https://www.seg-social.pt/ptss/gus/atribuir-palavra-chave/codigo-verificacao;
• create and confirm your password.
